Hi! I am Claudia!

Thank you for taking a bit of time to acquaint yourself with more information.

I understand that it is really difficult to reach out for support sometimes… it is also sometimes hard to figure out who you want to reach out to… Because of this, I would like to take a bit of time to tell you about who I am so you can decide if I am someone that you could see as possibly being a support on your path forward…

Claudia-about

A warm welcome

As a person, I have deep appreciation for the privilege and responsibility of being a wellness counsellor and serving others in their healing and growth. In addition to my calling as a counsellor, I am also a gratefully learning, married mother of two and someone who values connection, integrity, and gentle growth.

I find restoration in nature — especially the ocean, forests, and gardens — and in creative practices such as experimenting with painting, cooking, and writing. I love deep learning, reading for relaxation and I appreciate the immersive power and shift music offers.

My work, my purpose

My work is informed by both professional training and lived understanding of trauma recovery and nervous system healing. This allows me to work with deep respect for each person’s pace and capacity.

I bring a personal understanding of neurodivergence, which supports my commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practice. My focus is always on dignity, respect, and helping individuals and families find ways of living that genuinely work for them. I hold a strong commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practice, supporting individuals and families in ways that honour who they are.

My work is grounded in the understanding that healing and growth does not happen by force or education and insight alone, but through safety, regulation, connection, choice, and respectful collaboration with the body and nervous system.

The modalities and approaches I use allow for both direct and indirect processing which is especially helpful for children and clients who benefit from non-verbal work.

I work gently, practically, and within my professional scope, supporting clients toward greater resilience, integration, and wellbeing.

My professional education, modalities, special interests & supervision

My work is integrative and grounded in body-based and relational approaches.

I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Human Communication. From my younger self’s adventures: I also have an Honours degree in Corporate Communication along with training in process and business analysis as well as project management.

In terms of body-based trauma skills I am a certified Tension & Trauma Release Exercises (TRE®) Practitioner and I am completing level two of Somatic Experiencing® (SE) in May 2026 with the final level: level three, to be completed in 2027.

Ongoing training, workshops and short courses in my special interest areas include:

  • Children and Teenagers (Development, challenges they face and counselling responsibly and effectively with regards to this)
  • Neurodiversity (Understanding neurodiversity and the practical sides of processing diagnosis, advocating for and managing Autism, ADHD, SPD, Giftedness in day to day functioning at home, school or work, understanding differences in female/male experience and presentation, being neurodiversity-affirming, processing late diagnosis)
  • DBT Level 1 for Adolescents and Adults as well as from a Neurodiversity Perspective
  • Play-based approaches (Children, teenagers and adults when appropriate):
  • Sandtray
  • Drawing
  • Basic Clayfield
  • Bibliotherapy

I love to keep learning from others

I am inspired and deeply moved by various Talks by professionals; recent ones I appreciated very much include talks given by:

  • Dr Frank Anderson and Dr Helen Poole-Heller: Beyond the therapy room: An integrative approach to healing through Psychotherapy, Neuroscience and Coaching
  • Carl Wallace, PHD Candidate: Closing the gap in neurodivergent clinical care: A neuroscience first model
  • Mandy Stokes: Understanding Addiction – Causes and Recovery

I want to express my gratitude for the guidance of invaluable colleagues

I would also like to take a moment to acknowledge and express my deep, heartfelt gratitude to the professionals I receive guidance from through mentorship as well as supervision. I am humbled to be able to learn from each person. I have sincere respect and appreciation for these persons and as I do not have permission I cannot name them but I hope that they know who they are. Through regular supervision, I am thankful for the privilege to receive guidance from specific Counselling Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Registered Counsellors and Social Workers. These professionals share my deep respect and passion for the sacred work of trauma healing, the exciting adventure of supporting neurodiversity in a way that honours individuals and families, the awe-inspiring journey of post-traumatic growth as well as the necessity for psych education as well as parent and teacher support to create mutually supportive environments.
