Neurowellness Counselling
Welcome to Neurowellness Counselling. My name is Claudia and I am based in Somerset West in the beautiful Western Cape Province of South Africa.
What do I do?
I offer trauma-informed wellness counselling with a special interest in body-based trauma release modalities and recovery as well as neurodiversity-affirming support for ADHD, autism, and sensory differences. My work is grounded in the understanding that healing happens through safety, nervous system regulation, connection and collaboration with an individual and their nervous system — not pressure or force.
I am a Wellness Counsellor registered with ASCHP (South Africa) and work strictly within my scope of practice. Where additional support or diagnosis is needed, I refer and collaborate with appropriate professionals.

Areas of Focus
My Approach
I believe that meaningful growth and healing happens when people feel met, safe, understood, and supported at their own pace. Therefore I offer an approach that is body-based and nervous-system informed, neurodiversity-affirming, developmentally sensitive, collaborative and ethical.
How I Work
I conduct a thorough assessment to ensure appropriate safety protocols, understanding of nervous system patterns, identify complexity and readiness and screen for additional needs.
This process also helps determine when it is important to refer for diagnosis and for specific support for the treatment of mood, anxiety, or personality disorders; screen whether medication support may be appropriate/needs to be reviewed in which case I advise that individual see their Psychiatrist or Doctor for medical advice and support. Where appropriate, I work collaboratively with a psychologist, psychiatrist, or other professional where I focus on the body-based and indirect support modalities.
I believe in Education
Education and insight help create supportive environments for all affected persons. I provide psych-education in relation to Trauma and the Nervous System, Neurodiversity, Connection and whole-brain based approaches to parenting and teaching. I also do workshops for teachers who want to understand Trauma and Neurodiversity.
